19:30:36 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
Having a trump suit is great if you can use your trumps to win tricks where you're short.
But when you're 4-3-3-3 there is no shortness.
19:32:24 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
And in 3NT - you only need 9 tricks to make 400 (or 600 vulnerable).
In a major, you need 10 tricks. So unless you need a trump suit to protect shortness,
you should try to be in NT. :)

	The Rule of 11:
Subtract the spot of the card that was led from 11.
The remainder will be the number of cards above that spot
in the other three hands (outside the one who made the lead).

You can see the dummy, and you can see your cards. So you
now know how many higher declarer is concealing in that suit!

19:52:25 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
In NT, when you choose "which suit," bear this in mind:
If you can never get back in because you have a very weak hand, then DON'T lead YOUR suit.
Once it's set up, it will do you no good unless you can gain the lead again!
In these cases, try to lead what you think partner's suit is!
19:57:13 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
Don't try to set up your suit if you're weak, and you'll never get back in to cash the tricks!
Try to "hit" partner's suit instead. Partner is the one with the points, and will be able to
cash their suit's tricks once they're set up to be winners!
19:58:27 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:

what is the proper bid on board 8?
20:00:04 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
@susanrichards Linda says the best contract on board #8 is 3NT by South.
There is no point in being in spades, when you don't need a trump suit
because you have no shortness to protect.
	🐸
20:01:31 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
Watch partner's cards! When you play "attitude" carding on defense,
the low cards say "I can't help in this suit." But a nice meaty middle
spot card says, "I have something here, partner!"
20:02:03 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
The "Jack Denies" a higher honor
The "Ten Implies" one or two higher honors
20:03:38 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
If the strong hand is on your right, and you are leading, save your honors
to "catch" declarer's honors. Don't "lead away" from them. Lead the top
of what you don't have instead! (And leading a 7 or 8 or 9 will signal to
partner that you don't have an honor in that suit.)
