We give Attitude on our Partner's tricks, and Count signals on Declarer's tricks.

Attitude: HIGH card played to partner's trick shows you like it
and want partner to continue it.

A LOW card tells partner you can't help in that suit.

Count: When you have an odd number of cards in the suit that Declarer just led,
play a low card. Low-High means you have an odd number of pieces.

When you have an even number of cards in that suit, play high-low - that shows
an even number of cards, and often signals a doubleton.

19:48:28 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
There are THREE patterns that are balanced:

	5-3-3-2
	4-3-3-3
	4-4-3-2

Any other pattern in your hand is NOT balanced.

19:50:55 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
Since Declarer bid NT, there are either 3 or 2 clubs in partner's hand.
If partner's 9C was singleton, we'll give partner a ruff.

West needs to give partner the smallest club to ruff.
The low club says "trump this, and come back a diamond, so I can give you a second ruff."

19:51:29 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
Suddenly the hand with the overtrick has turned into a hand with an undertrick.
This will be a good score for the EW pair if others don't use suit preference signals!

19:52:27 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
You should play AS HIGH A CARD AS YOU CAN AFFORD if you're signaling high.
But you're not always dealt the right cards!

19:53:56 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
	5-3-3-2
	4-4-3-2
4-3-3-3 THESE ONLY are the balanced patterns with 13 cards :)

19:56:15 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
In an auction, the stronger you are the slower you should go. Bidding 4 ♠️ directly
over 1 ♠️ shows the "Weak Freak: 5 trumps, very few HCP, and an outside singleton. Take your
time, allowing you to find out more about partner's hand. There might be just the right hand
to try a slam. Responder is in charge anyway, just bid 2 ♣️ to keep the bidding alive and
	wait to hear opener's rebid.

19:57:18 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
EVERY time responder changes suits, it's absolutely 100% forcing.

19:58:46 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
DON'T MAKE PARTNER GUESS! TELL THEM which suit!

19:59:12 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
So much for that pretty spade contract!

20:07:00 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
Good thing you started with the spades, or those clubs would be a lovely place to park those spades! (yikes!)

	UPCOMING
Oct 10 – Unusual 2NT: the 2 Lowest Unbid Suits
Oct 12 – Cuebids showing Majors

20:11:58 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
	Partner opens in 1NT, responder:
        2H says "I have 5 spades," then
3NT says "and I also have enough points to be in game"

The NT opener must now choose between 3NT and 4S, depending on if there is a fit or not.

20:13:13 From Lynn Chapin To Everyone:
PLAY THE HIGHEST CARD YOU CAN for your signal. The highest one you can afford.
