Among the attendees at the reception for club officials and teachers were Brenda Simpson of Spokane WA, owner of Bridge with Brenda; Carol Robertson, ACBL’s Director of Club and Member Services; Edith Neff of Kailua HI, manager of the Kailua DBC; and Joyce Penn of Columbus OH, owner of the Columbus Bridge Center.


Junior Madness: NYC


The Summer 2004 NABC is going to be full of exciting Junior events – including a brand new world championship event.

 

 

 

Here is the schedule:

Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10: North American College Bridge Team Championship final.

Sunday, July 11: Stratified Junior Scholarship Game (open to Juniors born in 1979 or later; scholarship awards for ACBL members only). Scholarships are $500 for the highest ranking players, $300 for the second highest and $200 for the third.


Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 12, 13 and 14 (five sessions): World Scholastic Youth Team championship, sponsored in part by ACBL (for youths born Jan. 1, 1983 or later). The United States Bridge Federation is expected to name two U.S. Junior teams while here in Reno. The Canadian Bridge Federation is also expected to name a team.

Wednesday, July 14: Opening ceremony for individual championship. (ACBL Juniors must register with Charlotte Blaiss at Charlotte.Blaiss@acbl.org by May 15.)

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, July 14, 15 and 16 (four sessions): World Junior Individual Championship, sponsored by the World Bridge Federation (open to Juniors born in 1979 or later).

Friday evening, July 16: Prize-giving ceremony.

Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18: USA Junior Team Trials (for Juniors born in 1979 or later).

Saturday – Saturday, July 17-24: World Junior Bridge Camp, Nyack NY.
