Thank you to those who responded to
the recent online Club Official
and Teachers Survey. Your opinions and ideas will help guide our future
programs. We were pleased that awareness of and satisfaction increased
for virtually all programs and services. For example, teachers’
awareness of the Cooperative Advertising Program increased from 53 to
69 percent, with satisfaction from 64 to 80 percent. For overall survey
results, click here.
Congratulations
to Anastasia Tessler of Ann Arbor MI, Reza Khatib of
Palm City FL, Jennie Sauviac of Matairie LA and Ted Aurrie of Orillia
ON.
Their E-mail addresses were selected at random by the survey firm to
win $50 in Bridge Bucks for answering the survey.
Please
note that because the survey is anonymous, we are unable to
respond to individual comments in the open-ended questions
unless a name was provided.

More for Members
Accredited teachers and club officials who recruit 25 members in a calendar
year now will receive a $100 gift certificate to the ACBL catalog, The
Bridge Source, beginning in 2005. Recruiters of 100 new members over
any time period (starting from Jan. 1, 2001) receive a check for $500.
Encourage members to join online—the new application includes
a space for new
members to enter their recruiter information.

Months of Fun(d) Games
Club managers
will want to promote the special fund months during 2005: Junior Fund
in February, Charity Fund in April and International Fund for September,
along with Club Appreciation Month in October. Clubs may run
all regularly sanctioned sessions with 100 percent sectional black points
for these games. $1 per player from regular sanction fees is contributed
to the funds. Clubs may run Junior Fund, Charity Fund and
International Fund games in any month except those designated
specifically for other fund games (i.e., Junior Fund games can
be run in any month except April and September).

of special games for 2005.

Your ACBL
The new My ACBL Portal has been launched for members to check their
masterpoints, renew online and more. Over time, we plan to
add more exclusive online member benefits. We also will be able
to target news on this page by profile—for example, special
password-protected sites for club managers.
If you have ideas for My ACBL, please send
them to marketing@acbl.org.
Recruit ACBL Members--
Help the ABTA
The ABTA (American Bridge Teachers' Association) and ACBL membership
drive is up and running. Through the first month of October, a total
of
157 new members were recruited by ACBL teachers. That's a total of
$785 for ABTA with two months to go and a 200% increase over the
average number of students recruited monthly by ACBL teachers.
Nice work, teachers! Keep those members rolling in and we'll be able
to present the ABTA with a nice big check by the end of the year.
