Working together, ACBL clubs, teachers, units and districts contributed to a year-end membership total of 156,961, including 11,180 new members. The total was a slight increase over the 2005 membership of 155,766. Do you know there are incentives for membership recruitment? In 2006, individual recruiters received $10,100 in gift certificates and bonuses. Clubs received 611 upgraded club championships for their recruitment efforts. Visit Recruitment Incentives.

On the Road for Bridge
You can reach large local audiences with exhibits at college fairs, senior expos and other community events. We will supply you with exhibit displays and promotional materials for these activities. The Marketing Department’s outreach this year begins in February with a trip to the national convention of the American Camp Association in Austin TX to promote bridge in summer camps. Celebrate Your Juniors
February is Junior Fund month, when clubs hold special games that support the ACBL School Bridge Lesson Series and junior participation in international events. Why not make at least one of these games an even more special event for the juniors in your area? Club managers may request a list of junior members by unit. Contact Marketing. Juniors are members born no later than Dec. 31, 1981.

You can expect the winter issue of the Club Managers Newsletter in the mail next month. However, this will be the last mailed issue. Future issues will be sent electronically to help keep costs at a minimum.
