UNIT 168 SECTIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS                                   

This new awards program will be implemented in January, 2009.

The particulars:

It will only apply to Silver Points earned at Unit 168 Sectionals. (STaC points do not apply). These Sectionals are held

in Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Chambersburg and Hagerstown. Points earned at these tournaments will be calculated for

each player for 2009 in these three categories:

0-500 MPs NLM (Non Life Master)

0-1500 MPs

Open

The first, second and third place finishers in each category will receive an award. The number of free plays for each

category are:

First Place= 10

Second Place= 4

Third Place= 2

If there is a tie for First/Second Place, each player will receive 7 free plays.

A tie for Third Place will receive 2 free plays each.

The Ace of Clubs and Mini-McKenney award winners will still be recognized. However, the party traditionally held for

these awards will now be held for the Unit 168 Sectional Players of the Year Awards. It has also been the tradition of the

Unit to announce  the names of the Ace of Clubs and Mini-McKenney AFTER the party. Now, we will be able to

announce them much sooner! Support your Unit 168 Tournaments.....you might be a winner! You know the old

saying - you have to play to win!

Winners will be announced and awards presented between sessions Saturday during  the Harrisburg Sectional at the

Holiday Inn in New Cumberland January, 2010
