Phil Shelton Charity Tournament (Dec.)
Henderson hosted their 7th annual Phil Shelton Charity Tournament Dec. 7th & 8th. A good time was enjoyed by all. Sue Clements provided us with a never-ending supply of delicious food as well as helping with decorating and setting up for the game.
We wish to thank corporate firms who helped support this great Charity event. Casino Aztar was our corporate sponsor. The RC cola bottling works of Evansville kept us supplied in soft drinks. Outback Steakhouse of Evansville provided us with gift certificates as did the Wal-Mart in Henderson. The poinsettias used to decorate the playing area were given to overall winners on the Swiss Teams for Flights A, B & C.
The mayor on Henderson was unable to be there Saturday; however, she sent City Commissioner Michele Deep to welcome everyone. Ms. Deep brought along Keys to the City of Henderson to present to those who were continuous supporters of the Charity Tournament as well as those who have supported bridge in Henderson over the years. Retired Col. Tom Bell was probably the most surprised. Ms. Deep had him feeling like a full general.
